Story

Please Give Mika a Chance!

Mika is a 6-year-old cat who was rescued four years ago by a loving mother. Suddenly, Mika became very ill. She began vomiting and refusing food or water. Mika's mom, who lives on a very low fixed-income, couldn't afford expensive veterinary care. She called three veterinarians in her area for help. She told them that she only had $50, but was worried her cat would die without care. The first two veterinarians refused to see her, because the $50 wouldn't even cover the cost of her initial visit. Finally, the third, agreed that she needed to be seen and they would give her a free visit. (Thank God.)

At the vet, they were able to give her a shot to stop the vomiting, but they would need x-rays and bloodwork to rule out an obstruction and get to the root cause. Those services they could not offer for free. Therefore, Mika's mom has been trying to keep Mika hydrated with a syringe to water and praying for help. She filled out an application and we approved it today. Mika has tested in a few hours, so that we can get to the bottom of this.

PLEASE GIVE MIKA A CHANCE with a donation for needed tests and treatment.

Mika was stabilized and after a 2-night stay in the hospital, where she made great friends with all of the veterinary staff. They were unable to determine the cause of her illness and believe it to be side effects from a fast-moving virus.
