Frank the cat was an early case from 2016. This poor kitten was severely injured and left-for-dead, but two good Samaritans and your donations saved his life. This is the story as told by Frank's owner:
"On the evening of August 20th 2016 my daughter and I had gone for a walk, she heard a kitten crying and we found a tiny little kitten cowering on the side of the road. We looked for a mama cat or signs of siblings but found nothing. We scooped him up to take him to be fed and search for a family but when we sat him down to eat we noticed he was very shaken and unable to walk.
We took him to an emergency vet where radiographs confirmed a shattered pelvis and fractures in ribs and forearms. They suggested having him euthanized then and there. We were devastated.
By some stroke of luck the receptionist working that night said she worked a second job for an orthopedic surgeon and she would make sure he was seen and taken care of, just to show up in the morning. The ER vet was kind enough to send us home with pain meds to get him through the night.
I am a single parent with no financial help from my kid's dad... so the thousands of dollars for surgery might as well been a million dollars, so that same sweet receptionist gave us the name of your organization and within a couple of days Frank had had 2 surgeries to stabilize his pelvis. The Vet, Dr Reaugh, had thought Frank was hit a week or two prior to us finding him and had somehow survived as long as he did on his own.
Frank was thriving when he came home and we're coming up on four years later, I have my very judgmental and spoiled best friend. He walks a little funny, he's got some scarring in his lungs and needs an inhaler at times but is otherwise doing all of the normal cat stuff and keeping up with our other kitties.
I'm so grateful to For The Love of Alex."
