DO YOU REMEMBER KANE, the North Carolina pup? πŸ•

We met Kane, his dad, and his grandpa in October 2022; Kane had a large growth on his paw that bled and caused him discomfort, his ears were infected, and he needed a dental cleaning. We helped with the cost of Kane's surgery, and he fully recovered.

Kane was one of our recent Secret Santa recipients. We contacted Kane's grandpa to see if Kane needed anything specific, and he asked if we could get Kane a much-needed spa day. Kane had a full groom, a nail trim, and ear cleaning. Kane's grandpa said, "he looks so fine, thank you so much!"

Kane's Full Story:

Kane's family could not afford his surgery as they are extremely low-income and face many other daily challenges. Kane is Tyler’s best friend and companion pet. Tyler is a young man who has developmental and intellectual disabilities. Tyler is housebound; he lives with his father, who is his 24/7 caregiver. Kane is critical to Tyler’s well-being; he is always by Tyler’s side, protecting him and offering him comfort and companionship.

A nonprofit home caregiver contacted us to see if we could help with Kane’s veterinary costs. This kindhearted woman has been assisting with Tyler’s daily care for quite some time, and she has gotten to know the family very well. She saw that Kane needed some TLC but knew the family had no money to spare. They live on a measly $1,485.22 a month! Tyler’s home caregiver contacted other charities to see if they could help, but no one could help them.

This amazing pup meant everything to this family; Tyler would not go to sleep without Kane by his side. When the caregiver told Tyler’s grandpa we wanted to help them, he cried joyfully.
