Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day ๐Ÿ˜ฟ

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is a sacred space to remember the pets who have brought so much joy to our lives. Pets are true family members, friends, and companions, and they deserve the same level of love and respect as our dear human friends. Today we remember so many lovely animals that will be forever in our hearts.

If you are thinking of a pet you had to say goodbye to today, please remember this:

Your pet would be with you right now if they could. It is your burden to bear that they have left this world, but it's also a great gift. You were able to love your pet when they needed you most. You were there for them at the end of their life. That is perhaps the only gift big enough to repay our pets for the unconditional love they shower us with in life.

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day was founded by Deborah Barnes of Zee & Zoey's Cat Chronicles in 2015. Her sentiments about this important day are that you should participate in any way you feel comfortable. This special day occurs annually on August 28.

While it is painful to think about this great loss, I encourage you to focus on the good memories of your pet. If your cat, dog, or other pet is looking in on you today, I hope they will see you retelling stories and laughing in between the sad moments.

One way to honor your pet's memory is to make a donation in their honor to save the life of a pet in need of emergency veterinary care.

No matter how you choose to spend this day, I want you to know that you are not alone. All of us who love animals share in your grief. Your feelings are important, and I wish you peace and hope.
